East Orleans Cape Cod

Here in East Orleans you will not miss any other area in the world. This rare piece of paradise has truly breathtaking scenes that will never get old. If you are a boater, paddler, surfer, beach lover this is the spot you would envy over.

Popular Nauset Beach is one of those beaches that stretches for miles and is constantly grabbing your attention with stunning rolling waves, perfect sand and beach grass on the dunes. One of the great things about East Orleans is that there are no big buildings lining the shoreline. No condo buildings or anything like that to take away from the natural beauty.

Further in toward East Orleans Village where there are a few great restaurants and shops to enjoy there is Nauset Marine. This marina is located on Meetinghouse Pond. Meetinghouse Pond is a saltwater pond that harbors a beautiful array of boats. From Meetinghouse Pond you can venture out the river and out into Pleasant Bay and out to the Atlantic Ocean.

Nauset Harbor at end of Priscilla Road

Some of our favorite places in the world are located in East Orleans. Above is a special place where the sunsets are great and it is way less known as Rock Harbor is for watching the sunset. At this beautiful landing in the Nauset Heights area of town there is a great walk / hike along the water that gets you out to the outer Nauset Beach area. If you need a little shelter from an ocean breeze but still want to be at the beach here is a great spot.

Homes in the East Orleans and specifically the Nauset Heights area are always in high demand. We have rented and sold several homes in this area. One of the more notable homes that have sold here in the recent past is 51 Nauset Rd. Orleans. It is a stunning home overlooking the Atlantic high up on the bluff. It has 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and over 5,000 sq. ft. of perfection. It sold for $7,250,000 but you can get properties in Nauset Heights for much less. There are some cottage condo colonies that sell in the 400s. This past year and half has made that go up a bit. Orleans and East Orleans are in high demand so the prices are typically more than the Cape wide averages.

Another special spot in East Orleans is Pochet Rd. and out into the Pochet Association. This association has the best Nauset Beach private access over a wooden bridge. The homes in the association would be the only ones to be able to use this access point. It is less busy than Nauset Heights and similarly priced. There are no cottage condo colonies in the Pochet Association so the prices here typically start at about $950,000 and go up.

The next super desirable area of East Orleans is off Barley Neck Rd. as you get about half way down the road on the right is a town landing with a great dock in Meetinghouse Pond. As you get past that on Barley Neck Rd. all the following shoots off the road like Sea Mist, Cedar Cove Rd., Blake Lane, Jack Knife Point, and Briar Springs Rd. are all extremely desirable, if you know about this area. Some of the roads and neighborhoods have water access points for the residence owners and their guests. These water access points could get you out into some of the best boating, kayaking, paddle boarding waterways on Cape Cod.

There have been a few notable sales in the Barley Neck Rd. area of East Orleans lately. 15 Sea Mist Dr. Orleans sold for 1.3 million. It is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home with about 2,000 sq. ft. It does not have any water access but Sea Mist Dr. is a desirable road and the house was done quite nicely inside.

Another one worth noting is 124 Barley Neck Rd. Orleans. That sold for 1.325 million. That is a 3 bed / 3 bath home with about 2,400 sq. ft. No water access but great location and nice property.

Here is a great example of a home currently for sale in one of these fantastic East Orleans locations. It has one of those hidden water access points and an off the main drag settings as well has association water rights for a mooring, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming etc. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a great yard and super charming inside with lots of updates. The price is $1.1 mil.

East Orleans has a nice little village area along Main St. from apprx. Great Oak Rd. to the fork where Beach Road splits off from Barley Neck Rd. There is a fantastic market in Nauset Farms. Nauset Farms has a butcher, sandwiches made to order, wine, beer, snacks and more. Across from Nauset Farms is Smitty’s Ice Cream. This is a special spot for those evenings in the summer to enjoy a scoop or two. There is also a nice breakfast / lunch spot there in Whisk as well as The Rail and Barley Neck Inn and Restaurant. East Orleans Village has its own Post Office and a couple of nice local shops. There is the Weekend Store and Adorn that are near each other so popping into everything in East Orleans is super convenient.
